You may be wondering why this blog is celebrating the festive season so very early. Where are the blazing autumn leaves? The jolly pumpkins and bowls of soup? Why am I ignoring all those fabulous fall icons in favour of marshmallow snowmen? My motto (stolen from the Boy Scouts and often interpreted creatively) is "Always Be Prepared", and right now I'm preparing to be away from my computer for a large chunk of this season. You see, I'll be in Mexico, (go ahead and retch with jealousy), so I want my blog to be ready and waiting for my return in mid-December. I'm also spending September doing all my Christmas shopping, getting my holiday cards ready to be mailed immediately upon my return and cleaning the house like a maniac so that our friend who is house/cat sitting will never know that I can't remember the last time I really vacuumed under the bed. If only we could have planned better so that the trip included the holidays. I really think Christmas is best celebrated with snorkeling and margaritas.
