I'm always a little disheartened by Leap Day. February is long enough without adding an extra day to it, thanks very much. Couldn't we have an extra day in May? Or maybe September? But why grey and soggy February? Oh well, at least February is on it's way out and I have proof that spring is coming. Blooming right now in my garden are some of these purple and white crocus that appeared in my driveway pots a few years ago and these tiny daffodils which were a free-gift-with-purchase at a nursery. The daffodils are just about 4 inches high and they're very happy in my raised bed by the front door. They bloom much earlier than any of my regular sized daffodils and every year my clump increases by a few.
