Every afternoon Adeline and I scoot outside to check the mailbox and usually bring in a armload of flyers, bills and assorted junk, but today there was something very special just for Adeline! Adeline received her very first parcel in the mail, all the way from Alaska! Shannon is a lurker silent supporter of my blog and she sent me a very sweet email to introduce herself and to ask if she could send Adeline a little present. Of course I said yes!
Adeline was having a lot of fun with the box, but once she opened it and discovered an amazing teething doll she was even happier!
Shannon sells these dolls at The Pine cone Gnome on Etsy and the pictures don't do justice to how amazingly well crafted these sweet dolls are. Shannon chose one with lovely honey coloured skin, just the same shade as Adeline's! And a teething doll is very timely as Adeline is working on her top left tooth and this one isn't coming in as effortlessly as the other two did. Poor Adeline is drooly and rashy and snotty and she's sleeping restlessly, whimpering at random times and is way snugglier than she usually is. All the cuddles from my usually so-very-busy baby are nice, but not because I know she's not feeling well. The note that came with the doll says that the hands or feet can be dampened with water and placed in the freezer for extra relief so we're going to try that, although I think gnawing on the ring has already helped.
Thanks so much Shannon! You really made our day!
