Me: So how old are you now?
A: Three and a HALLLLLLLLLLLLF!!!
Me: That's really big! What can you do now that you couldn't do when you were little?
A: Walk. And eat. And chew. I couldn't really chew when I was a baby.
Me: What's your favourite colour?
Me: What's your favourite animal?
A: Reindeer! (her real favourite animals are horses and ponies, but Rudolph was sitting with her at the time)
Me: Who's your best friend?
A: You! Am I your best friend?
Me: Yes! You're my best friend AND my daughter! What do you like to play?
A: Taking care of babies.
Me: What's your favourite food to eat?
A: Banh chung! And carrots and all kinds of fruits and vegetables, really.
Me: What are you scared of?
Me: What makes you worried?
A: (serious look and a pause to think) Mean weeds. Just mean weeds. (you would think a Tinkerbelle movie would be a pretty safe choice, but the "mean weeds" are mentioned almost every day and she's asked quite a few times if they could come to our house)
Me: I know mean weeds make you feel worried, but mean weeds are only on tv. Things on tv always stay on tv and they could never come here, right? And if ANYTHING or ANYBODY tried to hurt you, Mama and Daddy would protect you. So Adeline, what makes you feel proud?
A: Peeing and pooing in the toilet!
Me: You should be proud of that. You worked really hard to learn. What makes you feel happy?
Me: Anything else?
Me: You're a really good singer. Who do you love?
Me: Anybody else?
A: Daddy! And Nana!
Me: What do you think you'll do when you're a grown up?
A: Have my own house.
Me: I bet you'll have a nice house. What do you think you'll do for a job?
A: Take care of babies, I think.
Me: That's a good job. What do you want to learn to do when you're four?
A: Crocheting. And sewing. Just those things.
