I hope all my fellow Canadians have had a fabulous Thanksgiving weekend - I know we did. We decided to have our turkey on Saturday and then eat nothing but turkey sandwiches the rest of the long weekend, which I declare a brilliant plan. It's been gloriously sunny and we've just been enjoying being together.
A friend gave Adeline a Thanksgiving craft to put together and Adeline was very into it. You wrote something you are thankful for on each leaf and then glued them on to your tree. We had a brief talk about what it means to be thankful, but I didn't want to lead Adeline into what she "should" be thankful for, and it was really insightful to hear the things Adeline chose to have written on her leaves. She started out with "helping", "doing the dishes with Mama" and "vacuuming", which shows me how important and happy she feels when she's given real work to do, and makes me think that she is probably ready for daily chores. Adeline is also thankful for "All my Mama and Daddy hugs", "love", "family", "home", "Daddy", "Mama","chocolate", "preschool", "friends", "dancing", "music", "soup" and "my bed". I think this is a great list and shows that she really knows what's important in life.
Of course, we all know what I'm thankful for. I'm a very lucky person to have so much love in my life.
