Although not Catholic, any excuse for a massive pancake feed is good enough for us, so Happy Shrove Tuesday! I won't go so far as to say that pancakes are my new religion, for fear of lightning strikes, but they sure are tasty and worth getting up early in the morning to make very occasionally. Chocolate chip pancakes were David's request and I decided to toss in some orange zest because when isn't orange and chocolate a good combination? David thought they were great, but I wanted them to be a bit more pancake-y and plain. I don't think I'll be doing the orange thing again even though it was good, but the chocolate chips were a nice addition and they reminded me of a very romantic chocolate chip pancake breakfast David and I had in Seattle when we were newly dating.
I love pancakes. The two best things in my life (expect for my husband, family, pets, etc... you know what I mean) are pancakes and magazines. There is this little café next to our house and in summer I always take chocolate/strawberries and in winter chocolate/banana. Normally, we eat pancakes once a week...minimum :)

We put fresh raspberries in our pancakes & additional chocolate chips for the guy. Yours are so uniformly shaped, mine are always all over the place! Thanks for the mouthwatering post...slurp ;)
