David and I are off to the big city for the weekend and we're far more excited about it than we should be. We've just been working so hard every weekend and most evenings as well, that the thought of getting over to Vancouver for a couple of days is making us almost giddy with glee. No really big plans - it's actually mostly an Ikea trip, but we'll also be fitting in Fabricana (my first time, but I've heard good things), the asian grocery stores and delis to stock up on some pantry items and to eat a Banh Mi and a trip to the Richmond Night Market where David plans to see how many things on a stick he can eat in one outing. The Night Market totally reminds me of all the evenings I spent exploring the Hong Kong night markets and I'm really looking forward to it - and to eating my share of things on sticks too, of course. There will also be lounging about and swimming in both the indoor and outdoor pools at our hotel. We were going to cheap out and stay at some dump out by the airport, but we found a good deal on a place that promises us pools, waterslides, jacuzzis, soft mattresses and nice cotton sheets so we decided it was worth it. So stay tuned - once I'm back on Monday I'm sure I'll have pictures of my trip to share. Since it just doesn't feel right to have a post without a photo, here's one of Musette when she was a kitten. Musette and Zephyr will be hanging out and getting spoiled by my Mom while we're away as she's coming down to house/cat sit and to lend us her car which has a much more Ikea-friendly trunk.
