Yesterday was one of those classic west-coast winter days with pelting rain, high winds and temperatures just above freezing, so of course we went to get our tree! I do think the weather facilitated some stellar decision making and we were out of there in a matter of minutes with the best tree in the whole place! After we put the kids to bed David and I put the lights on the tree while sipping sweet adult beverages and watching something festive-ish on television. This morning I insisted that everyone get dressed and have their hair brushed, but then it was time to put on the Christmas music and decorate. I love watching the girls uncover each treasure in our ornament box. We don't have a "theme" or a "colour scheme" and we don't care a bit if some branches are bare and others drag down low with ornaments galore. Each ornament on our tree has meaning and we share memories of all our holidays past as we unwrap the ornaments. Decorating the tree might be my favourite part of Christmas...
